The Seattle skyline

A letter from the founder

The Tower closed.
So I built the answer.

A letter from Rachael Barclay · July 2026

For forty-one years, the Columbia Tower Club was the room above the city. Now it is gone.

I was its General Manager through 2025. My office was on the 75th floor of the Columbia Tower, the highest private club in the Pacific Northwest, with the whole city spread out below. For years I watched the best people in Seattle build real relationships in those rooms. Over coffee at the bar. Over dinner with a skyline view. In the kind of quiet moments that only happen when you put people who actually do things in the same space.

The club mattered. Not because of the address or the altitude, but because of the people who chose to be there. Brokers and founders, attorneys and operators, people who had earned their seat and knew the value of sitting next to someone who had too.

When the building announced it was closing, those relationships did not end. But something real was lost: a place where those connections happened on their own, without anyone having to manufacture the context.

The network does not disappear when the building closes. The people are still here.

That is the line I kept coming back to. The people are still here. They were just scattered, with no room to return to. So I built one. Then I waited, and held the launch until the moment felt right. That moment is now.

I want to be honest about how I work, because it is the whole reason this exists. I am not interested in a velvet rope for its own sake. I have spent my career helping people win, and I do it the same way every time: understand the business, do the actual work, and make sure everyone in the room comes out ahead. Vantage is that instinct built into a network. Curate the right people, introduce them well, and then get out of the way while they make each other better.

What Vantage is

Vantage is a private professional membership for Seattle. A 5-minute assessment reveals your communication archetype: how you actually process, connect, and operate. Every introduction we make is calibrated to it. Curated in-person events put you in small rooms with people who are already vetted. And a member directory, the Blackbook, makes you findable to the right people the moment it matters.

What makes it different

No cold outreach.Every introduction inside Vantage is permission-based. We read both profiles, write the connection, and send it only when both people have agreed to meet. No one gets cold-pitched. No one’s inbox gets sold.

The Blackbook.Every member has a full profile. Search by industry, by Vantage Type, by what they’re building. Find the person you need before you need them, and be found the same way.

Curated events. You know who’s going before you RSVP. Small rooms. Real conversations. No theater.

The assessment. We don’t guess at how to introduce you. We know how you communicate, what energizes you in a room, and where professional friction usually starts. Then we use it. Every recommendation is calibrated to your type, not a random match.

The founding offer

$197 a month for the first 500 founding members, grandfathered for life. When we reach 500, or on August 30, whichever comes first, the rate moves to $497 and stays there.

Here is the part I would circle if I were you. We open to the public on July 23. Founding members get in before the doors do. Join now and you lock the founding rate for life, and you are already inside when everyone else is just hearing about us.

We do not accept everyone. Not to be difficult, but because the people inside are trusting me to protect the room. I read every application myself. If I cannot serve you well right now, I will tell you honestly.

I spent two years inside that building on the 75th floor. I know the difference between a room that moves and a room that just shows up.

Vantage is the one I wish I’d had the whole time.

The founding window is open now, before we are. Come in early.

Rachael Barclay, founder of Vantage

See you inside.

Always, Rachael
